The Gospel: John 15:1-8

It’s time to confess to my new parish that the book of John sometimes confounds me. John speaks in metaphors that are sometimes lost on many of us today.

In Texas, if you look along the fence rows, you find evidence of the subject of today’s scripture. Mustang grapes grow in the area and generally pop up in disturbed soil.
